IS THE PET CARRIER A GOOD FIT FOR MY PET?

Added Flexibility for Smaller Aircraft
A removable insert in the rear pocket allows the carrier to compress by an additional 0.5", helping it fit beneath the seat on smaller aircraft.
Fit Guidance
The Out-of-Office Pet Carrier is recommended for pets within these measurements:
- Weight: up to 25 LBS
- Body length: up to 18.5 inches, measured from the front of the chest to the rear, excluding the tail
- Shoulder height: up to 14 inches, measured from shoulder to paw
Fit also depends on body shape and how your pet naturally settles in the carrier. Your pet does not need to stand fully upright inside the carrier.
HOW SHOULD MY PET FIT INSIDE THE CARRIER?
Your pet should be able to lie down or curl up comfortably, turn around and reposition themselves without feeling compressed. Check that the carrier closes comfortably and that the mesh panels remain unobstructed.
Introduce the carrier at home with the openings unzipped, and give your pet time to explore and settle inside.
DOES MY PET NEED TO STAND FULLY UPRIGHT IN THE CARRIER?
No. A good fit is cozy rather than roomy. Your pet should be able to lie down or curl up comfortably, reposition themselves and turn around, but they do not need to stand fully upright inside the carrier.
For air travel, check your airline’s specific requirements for standing room and movement inside the carrier before booking. Our Fit Check provides product-fit guidance and does not guarantee airline acceptance.
IS THE BOTTOM OF THE CARRIER STRUCTURED?
Yes. The carrier has a supportive base beneath the removable fleece-lined bed to help keep your pet supported while you carry them.
The carrier is recommended for pets up to 25 lbs. Be sure to check body length and shoulder height too—weight alone does not determine a comfortable fit.
CAN THE CARRIER BE SECURED ON ROLLER LUGGAGE?
Yes. The carrier’s built-in luggage sleeve slides over the telescoping handle of compatible roller luggage.
Check that the carrier is stable and securely positioned before moving, and keep hold of your luggage whenever your pet is inside. Never leave your pet unattended on top of a suitcase.
CAN CATS USE THE CARRIER?
Yes. The Out-of-Office Pet Carrier can work well for cats whose measurements fall within our recommended fit guidelines.
Your cat should be able to lie down or curl up comfortably, turn around and reposition themselves inside. Use our Fit Check and select CAT to help assess their fit.
